雖然 OpenCart 系統提供了缺貨時不能結帳的機制，不過系統的作法是，客戶仍能將缺貨商品加入購物車，只是在結帳時，提示因為購物車內的商品有缺貨的狀況，所以無法進行結帳。
上述的機制其實有點不太友善，如果客戶沒有注意到商品已經缺貨，則必須要到結帳時，才會發現商品缺貨不能結帳，如果客戶花了很多時間挑商品，算好購物車內的商品可以達到免運費，卻在結帳時才被告知無法結帳，應該會留下不愉快的購物體驗。
本文要介紹的這個模組，會將缺貨的商品改成讓客戶無法點擊加入購物車，因為模組會將原本的加入購物車的按鈕，改成以[目前缺貨]的文字取代，文字內容可以自行定義，於是客戶就不會誤將此商品加入購物車，會更容易發覺此商品目前是缺貨狀態，可以避免客戶留下不愉快的購物體驗。
